Brok's Tried & Tested Potato. Dominix T1 fit.

Recommended Posts

After a chat with a newb yesterday I'll leave this one here.

It's the WTM website one, but fine-tuned after being flown on grid by myself.

The fit is this.  WTM lets it on grid.

[Dominix, WTM Spud-gun Plus]
Damage Control II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

500MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive

Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Large Shield Extender II

Neutron Blaster Cannon II

Neutron Blaster Cannon II
Neutron Blaster Cannon II

Large Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Large Core Defense Field Extender I
Large Core Defense Field Extender I

Wasp II x5
Ogre II x5
Berserker II x5

Null L x6896
Void L x8600
Synth Mindflood Booster x3
Agency 'Overclocker' SB5 Dose II x3

2 things to note, & you can't dodge this:

The drugs. You run out of Cap too easy without them.  They have to be used.

The drones:  Ogres for teh tower, Wasps for the Romis, & Berserkers for the Frigates that DPS has to sometimes shoot.  As a drone boat your drones missing is not an option really.  Ogres may punch the hardest, but they are also the slowest & have the weakest tracking.  It's all about Tools in the Toolbox if you're in a drone boat.

.

I can get just over 1300 dps out of this, which is better than the Hyperion or Rokh.  Blasters plus Drones is a good entry ship for training up for Vindi too.

.

The Newb yesterday only had a Potato, & was low on ISK.  They had trained up drone skills, but not gun skills.  Hence the chat.

Have fun :)

Look at our fitting website.

Basically the same fit but we swapped 1 mag stab for a PDS. This helps with fitting because without it you need advanced weapon upgrades V to fit it, it also helps with capacitor. And lastly we opted for a faction mwd to further help with cap stability.

I did say that.

If people have good skills they can do what I did. It has a better application than your one. Deeps is deeps.

Maximising Deeps is good for Fleet.

Maybe have a basic & advanced fit Domi in the future? That could work :)

Updated:  Just spotted that you have one now.  Yup, I was just squeezing a bit more out with what skills I had :)

If it is about things like Genos & High Skills then what would be the guidance?

Any sub optimal ship is entry level and the pilots are expected to be low skilled with the exclusion of marauders and other pirate faction ships, those are for people who are special snowflakes, if you are a high skilled pilot we don't expect you to be optimizing a sub optimal ship.

The only reason we accept other ships is because we are an inclusive community who is looking to let people transition into incursions. Most people who come to fly with us may not have 2 battleship skills trained and probably don't have a vindi/mach/NM just sitting around they can bring. For some people a 500m hull is a big investment they may not want to dump right away into something they don't know if they will like or not.

To echo and continue Max's point, the T1 and random faction ships are a way to get new pilots coming into our fleets, but not ships we expect people to stay in. The cost to optimize performance on the various entry hulls is much better spent getting into an optimal hull, so we intentionally design our guidance around getting people the best bang for their buck.

As always, we still run on a first come first served basis, and we will not turn someone away for failing to upgrade. But naturally we encourage them to, there's a sense of accomplishment as well as making fleets run faster!
