ship? Nightmare or a Nestor :3

Hello good night / morning / early morning / day/bla bla bla...

This will be my first time in incursion ... so ...

I'm curious about the incursions, and would like to learn more...

I am willing to buy and fiting for a nest or a nightmare, but I did not find FIT any of nestor, I wonder if I could watch using a Nestor, or ... I should use the nightmare, I really like nestor by the way :3

But ... if forced, and inevitable, indispensable, irreplaceable, irrefutable, undeniable the use of nightmare I will understand (snif...snif...[Sad Face])

 

Leaving, the joke aside ... I wonder if I can mount a Nestor for the incursion, or if I should go even Nightmare...

Nestors make very bad shield incursion ships and that is why you won't find a fit for them on our website (Yes you could throw isk at it and make one meet requirements but it is not a good investment)

I'd also like to draw you attention to the first line of the remarks on the fitting page:

i.e. there's a good chance (99,99%) the FC won't let you into the fleet with a Nestor, even if you get one that meets requirements.

To phrase it another way: we do not currently take Nestors into fleets under our normal operating conditions, and a Nestor is not eligible for our ship replacement program should it perish in fleet. Definitely bring the NM

I'd like to elaborate a little on the reason why a Nestor isn't accepted.

If you compare that to the Nightmare posted on our Fittings website you'll find the following:

First and foremost, the Nestor gets most of its DPS from Drones, which means its damage it delayed. It also makes it a really poor Sniper which means it would almost certainly have to run with the DPS squad.

The Nightmare can also fit 3 Tracking Computers by default, plus two Utility Highs. This means that it applies the damage it deals much better than the Nestor.

Also while that Nestor fit is cheaper than a Nightmare it's not significantly cheaper, and it performs worse for that price.

On the whole we'd really rather not encourage people to bring expensive and significantly non-optimal ships like that. A Hyperion requires the same ship skill and not too much additional gun training to fly and overall adds more to the fleet for less ISK on grid than a Nestor does.

It sucks when a ship you like doesn't work for something you want to use it for, but we can't have everything.

Surprised nobody mentioned this: the Nestor has a ship maintenance bay, which allows people to refit their ships in space. One BIG reason Nestors are never allowed in our fleets unless it's a Fun Fleet.

Anyway, welcome to WTM, the Nightmare is a beautiful ship that shoots good lazors <3
