Ideal Fleet Composition?

Eos will be a bad DDD, because your guns don't do that much damage and the local bonuses only affect your drones, not any assigned to you. Still, the drones are decent just as regular damage dealers and it can provide the other two skirmish boosts while still doing a bit of damage.

Claymore and slepnir shield bonuses are irrelevant to us because we have logi so we don't use local shield boosters

nighthawk and vulture actually have useful tank bonuses for incursions, but unfortunately they are bonused for shield/info instead of shield/skirmish, so claymore/slepnir are technically slightly better. 

Optimally I'd probably want a claymore (has one more mid slot than slepnir for extra utility) providing three shield and the speed boost, and then maybe an eos/astarte to provide the other two skirmish boosts while still doing damage.

I was wondering why would you say EOS would be a bad DDD.    All the Boosters lose some high slots for the cmd boosters  so effectively making them the DDD or HHH , wouldnt that increase their damage?

 

Read quite a few sites on the topic of fleet boosters and the occasional comment comes up ...  doing incursions wit the booster as DDD/HHH is ok .....

From a good DDD, about 65% of the damage actually comes from pilot's guns, the drones are only there to supplement. A good DDD should be able to do the job without the drones, they are only there to assist. If DDD does little/no damage, then they are only at 35% of their normal speed, and frigates definitely will not die fast enough. And the drone bonuses of the ship only apply to drones you deploy, not any drones assigned to you, so there is no benefit to making a droneboat your DDD.

Secondary boosters are bad DDD because they're not going to apply any damage except the drones. A reasonably skilled DDD in a Vindicator will clear the room's frigates much more quickly than Eos etc. could. The drones are being used efficiently, but Niarjas stay on grid too long.

So really never have the Booster as the DDD/HHH  then it makes sense....  

 

What does the fleet booster do  .on its .... secondary roles

Secondary boosters are for the boosts and utility mids. Truly, they are the ultimate sandbagging vehicle :D Anyway, they've got to stay right near VVV for their boosts to affect DPS, can't chase targets the way a battleship drone bunny can.

What if they are basicaly a maxed skill player

15km base with  leadership 5, wing command 5  and fleet command 5 

that would enable boosters to be under 65km away from VVV  if they were using a command ship.  Only going off the formula never actually seen it action yet

It's not a matter of skills all of our secondary booster pilots in command core have fc3 or higher. The problem is that the job of the drone bunny requires a hard hitting ship with webs. Neither of the secondary boosters hit hard or have webs due to fitting restrictions and medium guns. The way they are build is to contribute to dps with boosts and tower bashes to the best of their ability.
