Ideal Fleet Composition?

New members often ask questions like, "What is the best ship I should train for incursions?" and, "Which is more desired, Basilisk or Scimitar?" and other such things.  Even experienced pilots sometimes ask questions like, "Why don't we like ship XYZ?" and so on.

FCs all have their own styles, and WTM accepts a great many less-than-ideal ships in the spirit of inclusiveness, so FCs almost never get to fly their "ideal" fleets.

For all of us who are interested, though, and for all the new pilots who want to do their part to help, I am curious to know what FCs WISH their fleets could be.  FC, what is your ideal fleet?

When I first joined Warp To Me, I asked one day, and one FC said the following:

"My ideal fleet is:
3 Basilisks (Logi 5) for 3 combat caps,
6 Scimitars with 3x tracking links each,
10 Sniper ships (Nightmares and Machariels),
The rest Vindicators for damage output."  (So, 21 Vindicators.)

Since then, the booster functions have changed, so I imagine that last line is now 20 Vindicators plus one Command Ship for fleet boosts, but you get the idea.

So, again - FCs, if you could count on all your pilots to bring what you want, what would your ideal fleet look like?

Ultimate safety fleet. 20 Basis, 20 Scimis, all with Pith-A tank and ReSeBos. Scimis can bring Warriors for drone damage.

Edit: and a booster I guess.

Edit 2: Real talk: the advice that FC gave you is accurate, T'varr. Except more snipers on an NRF.

My ideal fleet comp is all Domi's cuz like #DroneLyfe no logi, nothing. Going for a straight fleet whelp. Maybe an active tank, every man for himself type of thing.

3 basis, 6 scimitars, max vindis and nightmares. I don't care what you say, machariels are shit and outclassed in nearly every way by a nightmare. The only time they're better is mtac, because they actually fit MWD's.

7 scimi's  with 3 links 

1 2/4 basi and resebo

7 nightmares in a cap chain with basi, ab fit  

1 nightmare with tractor beam mwd fit

1 booster 

22 vindicators with drone damage amps

1 vindicator with tracking enhancers

I can give a serious answer sure!

My optimal layout to complete all 3 HQ sites in equal spread of time would be.

9 logi. Containing 3 Basilisks, 6 scimitars.

10 snipers. Containing 3 Machariels, 7 Nightmares.

20 dps. Containing 15 Vindicators and 5 non-optimal ships hopefully containing a Long-range web bhaalgorn, or painter Golem, or starter hyperions. 

1 Booster. Being a Claymore providing maximum skirmish boosts and a painter utility.

If i were min maxing hard core 

8 logi 4/4 

1 booster 

8 sniper 

rest dps blasters or bargest would be best 

would like 1 golem in fleet for paint and 1-2 bhalgorn for lr webs great to have 

I would try not to run nrfs with this fleet

add a extra 2 snipers and you can, you just have to get them going on them sniper tags stright away while the dps sort out mara's and vylades

Thank-you Benji and Boldielocks for serious responses.  
It's good to know that bargest is considered a good alternative DPS ship
perhaps since they are non preffered, but 1-2 in fleet are good, make a new role for supplemental tackle for painters/long range web.  That way people know that there are a lot less of them in fleet, but that they are an option.

If i avoid nfrs i dont need the extra snipers 

 

I really like the bargest as dps it is the one of the highest missle dps ship at like 1600 with good range with a good fit and skills

I think Ideal fleet is,

6 Scimis, 2 4/2 Basis (or just reduce 2 scimis :> if logi are good and add 2 more snipers)

8 Railgun Vindicators with Remote Tracking Computer and RTC buddys

24 Blast Vindicators also with half of them having a single web and a RTC and the others having RTCs only

(cuz who needs more then 12 webs?)

If you are talking about 40 Nightmares cap chaining and repping (2 or 3 with 2 caps for combat caps) yeah, would need to agree that would probably be pretty dope

Its a 0% inffluence fleet compo

  • 8 logi
    • 3 CCs
  • 10 sniper
    • 4 nm
    • 2 mach
    • other can be no opti hull
    • AAA influence fit
    • at least 2 painters
  • 20 DPS
    • half can be no opti hull
    • at least 12 web
      • with DDD/HHH dual web
  • 2 booster
    • cover all SS boosts
    • long range warponry (kind of sniper)

If 2 boosters is not enought serious switch for a sniper. I think that 1sniper for 2dps is a smooth mix even if i'm a resident and not a FC studient ^_^.

EOS ...   3% bonus to Armored Command and Skirmish Command burst   which can double up as ur DDD as it gives bonus 7.5% bonus to Heavy Drone max velocity and tracking speed 10% bonus to Drone hitpoints and damage   7.5% bonus to Armor Repairer amount

claymore  3% bonus to Shield Command and Skirmish Command burst 7.5% bonus to Shield Booster amount

nitehawk hich gives 3% bonus to Shield Command and Information Command 4% bonus to all shield resistances

slepnir 3% bonus to Shield Command and Skirmish Command 7.5% bonus to Shield Booster amount
