Elite Basi Fits

Recommended Posts

I have been messing with Basi fits that are a little more bling then the standard fit.  Here are the two that I have come up with, one uses Rapture implants the other Saviour.  If I wanted to join fleet with a no expensive spared/elite fit, which would be preferred.  I got a few notes after each fit on the main pros/cons.

[Basilisk, Rapture]

That is a no. Since we do not check implants, we cannot allow line pilots to fly any fit that would require implants.

I wouldn't deny it's a great set up. But our limitations of checking implants is an issue as well. If the pilot is not cap stable and either can't contribute to the fleet as a reliable logi, we're risking our fleet safety in that sense.

Ok Savior fit it is then! As fit does not technically require implants, just it is not awesome without them. (You did not see that coming did you?).

Just out of curiosity though, if you don't mine me asking, why such the worry over implants?  I mean when someone x-up as Logi they have to give their skill, but you have no way of checking it. If it not what they say it is, it would be just as big (if not bigger) issue then if the implants are not there.  Only way to know is spot them sand bagging.

How does abyssal fit with this, as again they would be a bit of an unknown if someone signed up with them.

Also Imelda said no to line pilots flying such fits. I guess that means Some Pilot (pun intended) could?  What badge would be needed Trusted Logi? T3? R or L? Again just curious.

It's allowable with implants ofc but not entirely feasible to build a doctrine around if we aren't checking. For example if you are not reading all the notes and rules about the fit, ie it requiring so and so implant to work, and you just buy all at jita and hop into fleet, then you are a problem logi waiting to happen. I've had this happen before with a loki pilot who didn't know about the badges.

I wouldn't recommend raptures truthfully, it's a bit of a one trick pony, similar with genos. Saviors on the other hand are pretty neato. 1-5 and a warp speed implant for 6 is pretty cool for a general logi clone. A full savior set is really good for lokis especially.

Mardiorer,

your Savior fit meet almost all req., seriously just double check LSE against R&R

note also, that Savior pilot is more likely to pull aggro, and it does happen even with (sleepy/bad) marauders in fleet, thus double reduced tank (it is already reduced on cap stables compared to chain basi) + Savior is kinda.. idea with disadvantages.

So, if you somehow could just put faction LSE, no less problem

And, for your badges question. L+ badge lets you fly any logi fit, if FC allows it. It would be not SRPable if it does not meet R&R.

My fit does 4 compact reps then republic cap battery and shield extender, you can find some nice abyssals for more fitting. If you are doing slot 6 and 7 cap implants you should be pretty solid in terms of cap.

@Charr Coal The R&R says on LSE "Large Shield Extender (Storyline, T2, or Faction) + Pithum C-type Hardener + Pith X-type EM Hardener" and the one in that fit is Storyline.  So I think that fit is ok there?  The Faster AB is also going to help a little in terms of tank.  But if it was really a problem you can change the fit to get the better one on, but then you can't run all modules at once (which would actually be ok by the R&R just not what I am aiming for).

I will probably keep messing with the fits till I find something even better.  But it gives me a rough goal to work towards, which for me is important.  It will be awhile before I can buy the implants, but at least I know Rapture is totally out, but Savior might be in. And that is what I am really interested in here.

As an FC, I can tell you I do not want ANY fit where I need to start checking up on the implants in peoples heads!

We need the implant for the booster - fine - we can easily tell when this is missing from the boost amounts.

How do we tell an implant is missing form a logis head - instantly making that logi a lot less viable.

Its painful enough having to check people abyssals, but having to confirm implants in peoples head is just extra not needed work.

I like the idea - but the policing of an implant set makes it a hard no from me.

This I get in part.  But also how is this much different from skills?  You don't check them, but they make a huge difference on the effectiveness, you just trust the logi that they are what we say they are.  Not trying to argue, just trying to understand.

Generally with the ships - if you can fit the item and use it - you have the required skills.  There are some ships (marauders/T3) that we do require specific skills for - but these ships require you to submit to a skill check before you are authorised to fly them.

As for LC level, there is a lvl4 fit Scimi so that's OK.  Xing up with a basi while being lvl4 also becomes obvious when the Basi pilot is either continually not repping (this does get checked regularly while on a fleet), or broadcasting for cap (basis shouldn't need cap unless they have the Outuni).

People Xing up in different fits than they are flying also gets picked up regularly via ship scanning - and is a bannable offence I might add!

Implant sets however are very hard to / impossible to police.  They are also very easy to forget (hell, I forgot my booster implant yesterday in nikkis fleet!)

Like I say, I do like the idea - and the fit as far as I can see right now would work.  However requiring implants for it to work is just a no no.

Saying that - as @Charr Coal mentioned - once you get to L badge you can X up with it, and its up to the FC what he does with it.

Long ago (in a galaxy not so far away), geno clones used to be way more common. Often someone might be a little light on ehp or maybe their fit looked funky. All you needed to ask was hey do you got implants or something? And they would go yeah I got genos, and that's all it was. No verification, just take their word for it, we already basically take peoples word for when they give us their logi level. We used to even have a 'advanced' mach fit that required genos and a fitting implant lol. all it gave you was a tracking enhancer instead of the RCU.
