Why I fly with WarpToMe

Recommended Posts

Share your stories about why you love WTM and why you fly with us!  I'll start:

I was a few months into the game and one day I logged in to a new chat channel saying some scary stuff about how CONCORD can't protect me. Being the good capsuleer that I am, I offered my (mostly) T1 fit scythe for the good of the cause. Instead of being laughed at someone from WTM helped me refit my mission ship (a Maelstrom) and get into fleet. Everyone was super helpful explaining the acronyms and that I was supposed to be shooting letter tags instead of numbers. I made a boatload of ISK and it was the largest fleet I had ever been a part of. I was hooked! Fast forward a bit and now I'm an FC inviting new folks from local and helping them out.

I have the skills and shiny to fly with pretty much any community I please, but I stick with WTM because of the PILOTS and the atmosphere. I'm here to help new folks and have a fun fleet and I plan on sticking around for a while!

What's your story? :)

Rykki (The bestest FC ever.... just don't tell the others, they'll get jealous)

I was new to eve online and was looking at group activities that can be done while generating isk and making friends, incursions was one of those things.

I spent a fair whack on some skill injectors and watched a youtube video from one of the guys who plays with this group, followed his instructions and there you have it !!

Sadly i did skill for armour tank too so some skills wasted there but oh well you live and learn

My step-dad is the one who actually got me into the game. I started in the summer of 2013 and quickly went to play incursions since that's what he did. At the time we flew with TVP, that was at a point when they were, for the most part, fairly laid back and fleets were fun (not going to turn this into a bashing session). As the months went by we noticed things got more up tight. I raged quit one night because the FC was not going to let me into fleet unless I changed the rigs on my mach (literally the fit I flew since I started) but I eventually caved after playing DUST for a while. Eventually we decided to find another group to run with. My step-dad had heard of WTM and decided to give you guys a try to see how you guys were before we moved over. You guys were great so we started flying with WTM. I've loved the fleets ever since (can you tell since I became a FC for them?)

Most of my story is vague and I can't remember most of it. I started playing EVE in 2009 and for a long time I just did high sec missions and mining. After 2 years of being off of EVE, I started playing again and somehow I found incursions. Can't really remember how I found WTM, but the first time was a lot of fun. The ship I was flying was a Scorpion Navy Issue. After that I just focused on incursions all the way, just because of Warp To Me. I like the people that fly with us and I love the people that we work with to make Warp To Me great again. (pun intented)

I was a high sec care bear for a long time. Tried whs and ls for a while and just never found my content. Then a corpmate got me running incursions. Incursions were still new. Only vgs were run. Took a year long break and all of the communities i ran with were gone other than isn. Flew with them a few times and discovered hq's were finally runable. Isn had changed and bounced around between them and tvp. Then someone i used to fly with in btl told me about wtm. I was intrigued with the concept. New bro friendly. So i found local. First fleet was a gant fleet. Nolak in an osprey. Only died once.

Flew basis pretty exclusively at that time. Within a week i was lc and gant creature and aura cornered me and had me fill out for wtf. The rest is history. Now yall are stuck with me.

Fly? I don't think i m flying. I use something that is supposedly an Internet spaceship but performs pretty much like a submarine. :P

On a more serious note i like the atmosphere in WTM and it fits me well since i honestly enjoy to spend my time in game relaxing from RL issues and not to add more drama in my life. (Funny thing is that when i FC some ppl tell me i am too business like with a touch of a drill sergeant 9_9)

P.S. don't die when i m charge of the fleet i hate paperwork and i avoid doing it.

Been playing since '09, my then boyfriend (now my husband <3) Got me hooked, and we've played together ever since. Found incursions about a year and a half ago after a Corpmate suggested we try it out- and we've been hooked ever since. Ran with WTM first, Rykki was one of the first FC's I flew with, and I was so impressed and thrilled to find women FC's with WTM, and Rykki's fleets were always awesome and lots of fun. We also ran with another community a few times, but they were just toxic and we preferred to fly with WTM. I joined the T-badge program after being encouraged to by Anami and a couple of others, and here I am :) (Husband is here too, he's becoming part of the logi team :)

Just started doing Incursions. Started with WTM, saw a whole bunch of others. I tried The Valhalla Project. meh. I like the atmosphere and it feels more like a family here.

Was introduced by my first corporation I joined in Eve. Started up every day and night with Creature and Charlie (as the FCs) closer to Xmas. Joined for the fun basically. Plus incursion connections=eve connections. WTM much better than TVP and ISN and all others. Hella fun teaching new people.

I can't remember most of my story. I've been running missions and doing other stuff for quite long by then (I think it was 2012, maybe 2013 with me starting eve in feb 2011), and I think in HelpMyMission channel I asked about something else to do around here. Someone adviced me to look into incursions, and somehow I found WTM (though there was TVP and a couple others available as options), and decided to give it a try.

After doing a basic refit of my mission maelstrom, I've had a lot of fun there and settled with machariel+scimitar combination some time later (also tried scorp navy, though people didn't like it. I did count my salvos, y'know... xD  And another ship was a bhaalghorn in which I offered free cap to nearby vindis, + 45km web for the fleet. I believe I was useful but dps was just too low to try it again). I keep arguing about fittings and stuff to present day, but WTM is awesome regardless. Applied to T-badge at some point, but had some RL stuff while I got the reply and only came back a month or two later, and didn't reapply since then because... well, I don't think I can be a good voice FC. I can do tagging and stuff, but I wouldn't be able to speak much enough xD

I mostly like flying as DDD/HHH (with my now vindicator) and try to avoid other roles to be open for that one. As a scimitar, I have nearly as much fun with links coordination, and I think I was among the first people to do that oO Which was a lot of fun either.

You guys are awesome and I'm not leaving.

If speaking is your only concern then I say give it a shot! I wasn't so sure about speaking but I grew into the role and started having fun with it!

I am still considering it, and may change my opinion at some point.. Thanks for encouraging :) I don't believe in myself enough, so it helps

Recently returned to my friends at WTM after other in game activities settled them selves down. I find it a relaxing way to socialise and make isk, while helping newer players to master the mechanics of this game we love so much, EVE is such a complex and diverse world and its nice sometimes to just wind down a little with my WTM buddies.

I'm started to try eve at 26 dec 2015. Stuck with hisec mining for 2 month.Tired of this so I jump to null newbie corp.

and it's turnout to be tired of running away fron neut in VNI, and some old guy there notice me that I'm trying then he told me about wtm and throw railrokh to me.

Starting with nightmare and alway cap out. Turn to Mach and comeback to nm again with full implant.

the thing that made me stick to WTM is that funny people around here, especially when someone trolling FC.

and WTM is stay classy like my corp.

I didn't even count my money, just have a good time here.

I started flying with WTM back when we were running Vanguard and assault sites and I had run a few sites and at that time i think i was flying a Maelstrom and after a couple sites my ship went pop and the FC that I was flying at this time helped me refit a new ship so i could continue flying with him and I had made enough ISK to outfit a Machariel and is what I have been flying since, I have just recently came back to EVE from about a 6 month break and I am glad to see that WTM has not changed. All the FC's I have ever flown with have always made it fun for me, WTM fleets are the best fleets

I love the diversity. I've been with WTM during two incursions now and made just short of 3 bill. - so a decent enough amount of hours to experience how versatile the fleets can be.

Some fleets are very effective, cutting through the sites like a knife through soft butter. Some are not. Some fleets are very quiet and uneventful. Some fleets are a lot of fun with talkative people and jokes on comms. Some fleets are very exciting with some close calls and perhaps a leeroy or two. Some FC's are strict - others more relaxed. Logi can be very effective and you never worry about a thing. Sometimes it gets more exciting and you start wondering at 50 % shields if logi noticed your broadcast or you have to scream for attention over comms. Sometimes AAA drifts off by 100 Km because he forgot to stop his ship while paying attention to the all important shield broadcasts, and all logi is suddenly out of range - and it's funny as long as nobody looses their ship. Sometimes VVV is in the completely wrong spot and FC gets all the aggro - and we just joke about it. Once a new guy made a mistake and lost his 800 mill. logi ship and didn't have enough ISK to replace it. People in fleet gave him money for a new one.

So in short, even if incursions basically is grinding for ISK, the versatility of WTM fleets keeps it interesting. As well as the people in them.

Why do I fly with WTM?

You all let me get away with shit that no other community would deal with because its "my thing". Been here a longtime, seen alot of the newer (and even some of the "older") FCs come up through the FC program, been in a few of their practicals and generally have a blast here. There have been times where Ive stepped over the bounds but I generally know my limits and that seems to be ok with most FCs.

Also the isk. Yeah, the isk is a big part too.

Why do I fly with WTM?

Goes back to May, when my main toon was only two months old and the one way I knew how to make isk was... well, mining. I was introduced to WTM by this guy named Phunctured, albeit with a dizzy mix of alphabets and numbers. '3' for 'E' and such. I entered the channel, with no idea what I was doing. Figures, I was only two months old.

Fortunately I was a ship nerd so I could fly Gallente battleships and fit T2 tank mods, started off by giving the channel a fit that I got from the fittings website. Ferris Vuld helped me out greatly, basically got me ready to rock and roll.

And then, I did NOT read the rookie guide, just checked the most basic stuff like how to reload the MOTD and stuff, then jumped in. Sovereign Enterprise was my first-ever FC, and he was very patient with me, walked me through the details. Thanks to him I was able to run well enough in a few sites. I still feel nostalgic and grateful whenever I see Ferris and Sovereign around.

Then during the summer break, I ran virtually every day, earned a ton of isk, and enjoyed the game. Even then I was still wondering if I'd be able to earn more by switching to TVP, being the isk addict that I was. Was just waiting until September, which would be when my character turned 6 months old.

I got an invitation in September, actually. From a legit TVP dude, I think. But then I was so immersed in the WTM community that I didn't really want to have to start making new friends all over again. WTM earned me money, but it also gave me fun. Fleet chat was always entertaining, the FCs were both friendly and douchy(lol), and the people were so fun to hang with.

Now I carry a Nightmare and a Vindi along with a rookie fit Rokh in my Bowhead. The first two for myself, the third for any corpmates who want to run but do not have the isk to fit a ship. And I've officially enrolled in the Training FC program, which I know will be a whole new experience for me. I've mined, I've huffed gas in wormholes, I've died in nullsec, I've done PI, I've dipped my toe in industry, I've had wars... but this is the biggest-yet turning point for me. Who'd have thought a rookie like me, not even a year old, would jump in to run as an FC for a fleet of people much more experienced in the game than he is. But I've been given so much by the WTM community that I now want to give some back.

Looking forward to reminding people to PLEASE PAY SRP when I'm running as FC :D

Why do I Fly with WTM?

It started with my first player corp, a group of High-Sec miners. The CEO and most of the directors flew incursions as their primary source for ISK. I was impressed that they always had lots of ISKies and wanted to know how they did it. One day they were on comms griping that fleet was stood down for a lack of Logi. That was apparently pretty normal. I came on comms and said 'hey, does that mean if I train Logi I will be able to make that dank ISK any time I want, and hardly ever have to queue up for a waiting list?' My CEO didn't give me a straight answer to my question. Instead what he said was 'If you train up to fly a Basilisk for incursions I will buy you one.'

I scrapped my training queue and reset it for a Basi almost before he was finished speaking.

That corp ended up succumbing to HS wardec's and shut down. The CEO made good on his word though, and before quitting the game bought me a Basilisk, still a few months away from flying it. When I finally had Logi4 and could fly I didn't have a clue. The only name I remembered was WarpToMe, It took me a couple tries to find the channel, but when I did join and told people I was a noob I didn't get turned away, and I didn't get hazed as hard as I expected to, I mean after all I was a scrub with no clue what I was doing. I don't even remember his name, but the LC on my first run was patient, reminding me to anchor, to light my prop mod, and taking time in the Basi chat to explain things not covered by the  new bro speech. Eventually I got comfortable with Logi, found it a lot more engaging than F1, and of course the ISK.

I've been with a wormhole corp for a couple years now, and yeah there is hella money to be made running C4 sleeper sites, but there is nothing like the safety of HS incursions, mad ISK with little RISK. Many of my alliance mates run with armor groups, and that is our primary pvp doctrine, but not this guy. I've been away from WTM for about 8 months now focusing on the WH group, but I'm back and just dropped my LM application. I'm still flying that original Basi, and I've never felt the need to look for another group.

I'm a bit late, but why do I fly with WTM?

I heard about incursions a long time back, but I guess I joined the wrong community because I hated the grind of them. I recently came back after a long break because I head of the Alpha clone thing. After playing about a day as an Alpha, I upgraded my account, spent all my remaining isk on a Vindicator (breaking the #1 rule in Eve) and flew it out to the WTM focus at that time.

Admittedly, I went off to other groups in search of more isk/hr and until I realized, it was terrible. The FCs were rude and obnoxious to people, the community was toxic, the comms were dead silent, there we no fun at all. After a while, I considered leaving incursions, to follow other activities like missions or industry, but then I remembered about WTM.

I quickly brought by Vindi down to a new WTM focus and began running sites again. The change was like night and day, as always, our FCs are fun and pleasant, our community is interactive and interesting, and the comms keep me coming back day after day. I have even found myself a role that I love, VVV (Web Commander).

Hope to see you guys in fleet!

Why do I fly with WTM?

I first heard about incursions from a corpmate who wanted to build a dreadnought in our local c3 (He still shows up once in a while during late-night fleet, his name is Sudakon). I asked him where he had enough money for that kinda thing, and he gave me a link to WTM local. At the time i thought incursions were only for the rich and high-skilled, but he showed me his rokh fit, and I said ,"Well I can fly that". I quickly got my stuff together, got a small loan of 1 bil isk, and bought a hyperion and a skill injector. I finally got invited to fleet, and at first i was very difficult to work with. I wasn't disrespectful or anything, just straight up dumb. Didn't read the rookie guide, didn't broadcast on time, anchored on VVV during tcrc, and did other typical scrub things. But the FC's were patient with me and the isk was great, so i stuck around and got better. Upgraded to a vindi (still my all-time favorite ship), plexed myself and paid off my 1 bil loan, and learned more about the game and about incursions.

I was flying with a corp that I liked, but they soon disbanded so i decided to travel with wtm full-time. Not long after I signed up for the training FC program. I was an fc with my old corp, and i decided to put those skills to use. It was only then that I began to appreciate the community for what it is. My fellow commanders, as well as the f1 warriors and logibro's, are some of the coolest and kindest people I've ever had the pleasure to fly with.

My most memorable experience was when I lost my shiny vindicator to gankers, not long after I first became a T-badge. It just so happened that I had spent most of my money, and i had to plex in less than a week. Without an incursion ship, I was in danger of losing my subscription. Den Talidar heard of my plight, and swooped in to save the day, granting me a fully-fit vindicator (with faction mag stabs) worth well over 1 bil, as well as 500mil to cover the cost of my plex. When i offered to repay him, he simply said that becoming a full FC with WTM would be enough.

I'm around a lot, usually lurking in the help channels or FCing from my fish tank (anyone who's flown with me will get that joke). In short, I fly with WTM because the community is like no other, and although we may have our issues you guys are really nice to me and we've got a great community with resources, inclusiveness, an extensive knowledge base, and most importantly fun!

As I say to all the people I talk to in the help channels, hope to see you in fleet soon! :)
