  1. The issue is that finding one pilot for mtac is relatively manageable. Shepherding a dozen snipers to constantly update cap buddies is a whole other thing
  2. Flying Basi very frequently, I'm split on this. Absolutely it is the job of us in the Basi crew to provide cap. This can be a real challenge though. There are days when combat caps are sparse and hungry pilots are many. T1 ships, max DPS Vindi fits, etc. The more people calling for cap, the harder to appropriately share it and more attention it takes away from repping. Fit wise, Vindi and T1 ships are pretty stuck in their demands, but as the op noted the NM and Marauders can easily add one cap. Lack of range sometimes hurts, but snipers move the least of any ship besides the booster and we have had NM cap buddies for years. This also gives us more emergency options in case a Basi DCs and we need emergency chain. I think cap utility high is a great idea. I dunno if forcing everyone to fit one is the right move though. I'm all for recommending it though

  4. New to incursions, new to Logi

Hi Eeon! Welcome to WTM. We would love to have you fly with us and show you the ropes. Also, congrats on Logi V! It is truly the Best V. Next steps for you would be one of the following: A) Join the "Warp To Logi" channel and catch a Logi School. It's an introductory class given for first-timers wanting to know the basics, or maybe brush up on existing knowledge. When logi school is scheduled, you will see it in the MOTD here. At current time of writing, we have one next week. If that's too slow, see option B! B) Simply fly out to our current location with your ship and register yourself on the waitlist. When you are called up to join us, let the FC know that you are new to flying Logi for HQ sites, and someone will give you a rundown. From there you can learn on the fly, it's really quite fun! You can always catch a logi school down the line to fill in gaps and ask any questions that may need some special attention. C) Additionally you can always ask for help in our main channel, or the Warp To Logi channel. Good luck and hope to see you soon! Izumi, WTM Logi Trainer
  5. New Skill Guide and ship progress

It also gets a range bonus via missile speed, making Torps viable. Meeting tank requires T2 rigs, but seems pretty doable.
  6. The Short Range DPS Pilot

On a 2k gun DPS Vindi, the difference between the 6% damage and 6% ROF is only 7 DPS. This comes at the cost of 6% more reloads, 6% more ammo to carry, and most importantly 6% more cap to burn. High-damage Vindi's, especially without other supportive implants, are notorious for being cap light. Considering the Vindi's guns burn cap on par with its MWD, this is a good place to make up some of the difference. Alternatively, if you have good cap skills and implants, you can take the hit with the ROF implant (or rig slot), but you're probably never getting cap stable.
  7. What if............

  8. What if............

Energy you pick up into the battery is lost from your kinetic and potential energy.
  9. What if............

The answer is obviously that all the magma in the mantle leaks out onto the surface, and UK and Aus are obliterated. Kind of a dick move there, Pockets.
  10. Ideal Fleet Composition?

Dude, I told you we have warriors.
  11. Ideal Fleet Composition?

Ultimate safety fleet. 20 Basis, 20 Scimis, all with Pith-A tank and ReSeBos. Scimis can bring Warriors for drone damage. Edit: and a booster I guess. Edit 2: Real talk: the advice that FC gave you is accurate, T'varr. Except more snipers on an NRF.
  12. Looking forward to joining the fleet

Hey there, and welcome to WarpToMe! I hope you enjoy yourself and I look forward to seeing you in fleet. People use a lot of different strategies for moving. If it's just the one ship, a lot of people just fit max tank and/or speed and travel with it directly. Small ships (like logi) fit in an Orca. Many people I know, however, do indeed use the Bowhead given the ability to move multiple battleships easily. As you mentioned, the potential value of your ship is a consideration, and there will always be a tradeoff between speed, safety, and convenience. Hope that helps! -Izumi
  13. Sandman Retirement Fun Fleet

Eagle is fitting because Sandman is both American and basically bald.
  14. First time logi - time to transition from missions?

Hi Larold, Pleased to make your acquaintance and welcome to Warp To Me. My name is Izumi, I am one of our Logi masters here that helps train new logi pilots and answer any questions they might have. I’m thrilled to see your interest! Logi schools: These happen sporadically, based on when we can get our teachers in to hold one. They should send a notice out on the mailing list you mentioned, as well as the MOTD for the channel “WarpTo Logi”. If you have trouble making a school soon let me know and we can try to schedule one that fits a good time for you. Clones: you can manage that as you wish. Personally, I have a clone specific for incursion Logi (helps with shield HP, capacitor usage, etc), which I leave wherever my logi ship is docked. Incursions spawn all over New Eden so Incursioners are nomadic by nature. You’ll bring your logi boat to dockup, and X-up through our Waitlist Manager – a link to this website will be in the general WTM chat channel MOTD. In there you will post your fit for approval to be invited into fleet. Wait times vary for a number of reasons, particularly day of the week and timezone. Logi is frequently in high demand, and it is unusual to wait more than an hour, more often than not there is room for you immediately or you’re next in line! Comms: yes, we are happy to have you come listen in while we’re running. Send me a mail and I can get you connected, or simply ask in Local and let them know you’re a new Logi and I gave you the OK. Other preparations: Thanks for reading our guides! It will really help you to be prepared before hitting grid, and Logi school should further help with that. Your skills look awesome, and I can promise you that incursion payouts make upgrading a very quick process that can make a big difference to fleet efficiency and safety. It sounds like you’re already well on your way to flying with us! Best next step would be to catch a Logi school as soon as you can. If you want to try and fly before then, ask in the “WarpTo Logi” or general WTM chat channels for an LM or CLT who can walk you through the basics. Feel free to contact me as well for any questions, or our Logi branch head “Kimina Tanai”. I expect we will live up to our reputation as #1 Newbro-Friendly Incursion Group! Cheers, Izumi
  15. NEW Badge idea(s)

Even though we will probably never encourage missiles, I think this idea is hilarious and awesome. Black Sheep is a great choice, although my personal favorite is Splatula! Also, I would like to acknowledge that in the event that DPS targets get away from Vindi webs, Barg makes for a great addition. Thanks for contributing!
  16. Command Bursts and the New World of Fleet Boosting

Ah, I never really got around to learning the passive boosts Edit: I now understand passive boosts. Neato
  17. Command Bursts and the New World of Fleet Boosting

But then we don't get to panic... Also sweet, they rolled some boosts together and added new ones. Hello raw shield buffer!
  18. The new kid

Blaster Rokh is a great starter ship. You might also consider its cousin, Blaster Hyperion, which has a more natural upgrade progression down the line
  19. Entry-Level Logi - "Logistics" Skill is Zero

A lot of people said good stuff, just throwing in my 2 bits because it's a fun idea. TL:DR Really creative, I love where it's coming from. Problems are tank, cost, and skills I was really intrigued by this and threw some ideas around. We used to have some FCs and LMs that would take an Osprey out on a lark, and it made for a fun night. I found some options that are interesting academically, but none that I really like practically. If you try to clone the Basi fit over directly, you can get about 1/2 to 2/3 of the shield tank. You can make a tank that approaches Basilisk buffer....for a few extra hundred million, like double to triple normal Basi cost. The other half of that is the resists problem: looking at typical incoming DPS for Osprey/Basi, the basi receives 40% better effective reps. Since EHP is roughly resists * buffer, it is far better to accomplish that with resists. However, Fatal makes a good point about actual application, and the shiny fit would most likely survive. (The problem then, is that it is silly to shiny such a basic hull, with such a strikingly better option before you). One thing I saw is that the 0/5 is far easier to accomplish than the 3/2. You can even make it effectively a Logi 5, running on 1 incoming. Trying to get large reps takes all kinds of PG, which means a bunch of added cost and lost tank. I will admit to you that the 0/5 fit looks like something I would entertain; however, as Foshkey noted, we have a lot of other options for handling cap issues. Foshkey is also right that we need consistency. The real kicker here is skills. WTM has always had to battle with the skills issue. We build our fits knowing that newer players can be lacking in support skills, sometimes grievously so. However, there are certain requirements we set to give us some assurances. Many of the modules we fit have associated skill levels required, telling us that the pilot is sufficiently skilled in the areas we deem most crucial. With this Osprey fit, you have presented it as intentionally an option for lower-skilled pilots. The pre-reqs for Logi, especially the locking skills, ensure that reps land on time. A shield repping Osprey, additionally, drastically loses effectiveness below Cal Cruiser V....a hurdle which we might likely assume our fledgling logi had not yet cleared, so this basically relegates us to 0/5 fits. Throw in all the other cap, shield, and navigation skills, and I have no idea what kind of ship I just invited to fleet. This is the real kicker for me. TL;DR redux: this ship removes the inherent safety nets we have to make sure safe pilots are flying logi. All this wall of text being said, if somebody brought a 0/5 Osprey with Pith-C invulns, I would totally take it for late-night fleet
  20. Waitlist manager needs to track AFK pilots

One benefit of the manager is not having to stare at WTM Local waiting for a line. When I flew a sniper boat, I left my fit pasted and ready to X whenever the line came up. I hardly talked in there, just in case I missed the chance to X first. You would get 20 people Xing up in every possible ship type when the FC asked for a single thing. This contributed to fatigue and burnout on both fleet member and FC sides. I spent multiple hours getting poached when slots opened up, because somebody was faster to hit enter than me. The WL manager is intended to prevent this frankly awful experience. In the new system, I can X-up, then hop on Netflix or do some work until my place is ready. With proper use, pilots not ready to go when their number is called get bumped in favor of those who are ready to go. It is true that this has the side effect of longer lines, as people do not need to suffer the grind of being first to X under the line. Good news on that front, as others have said, is we run more fleets now than ever before, thanks to more numbers. I consider the current iteration already a success, but be assured the FC core is happy to make adjustments as good ideas come in. (a repeating 10 minute captcha sounds like an awful grind to me) Edit: almost missed this: " Rewarding an AFK play style is just as bad as only picking people with the shiniest fits, let's fix this. " I strongly disagree with the equality suggested here. There is no reward given for being AFK vs waiting to be ready; indeed, if you leave for too long you get dumped.
  21. question regarding corps

You can close your current corp and form a new one immediately, with no regard to being wardecced. If you ever get a war, just close corp, make a new one with a different name, and off you go again perfectly safe.
