  1. There is another technique for cap-hunrgy fleets like you described. Of 4-5 basis  2-3 select a few "special" targets they would be responsible for and focus precapping them. Other focus broadcasts

    That takes 2-3 willing to do non-standard thing, which is not everyday but happens.

    Also, if you have capspreys/silisks, coordinate with them

  2. Not all vindies need proactive cap. Soon, basi pilots can know many of best and worst of these by name. Feel free to name the worst "Carol-ones"

    When I basi I often fill my watchlist with pilots who cap broadcast and try to make them not to. Then I add to the list, and so on.

    It may be stressful but mostly, its in the choice of a basi pilot. I hate to see cap broadcasts, especially the walls - they are ususlly sign for basi subpar (or uber bad fleet but less often).

    Many basis though would give fixed number cycles to each new broadcast, no more, no less, maybe skip some, and move on. If its not enough for dps/snipers, meh, "they are bad and need to learn to use their cap better". As long as you are not that basi, ok for me.

    Rarely but it happened we had a few tpph in a row with no cap broadcasts other then tribute to Outuni, and that felt good.

  3. Well, in 30, not 40 hours at 150mil/h it is indeed 4.5b but if you not make it in 1 month, you need to buy 2 month plex, and it curiously leaves exactly 1.5b which is a basic vindi, at 100% reinvestment, for 1.5 months

    It's indeed easier for T2 and later but you have to brace in the begining:)

    May also go for cheaper optimal ships to start, if ISKs are the goal.

  4. Always precapped roles, ddd then vvv then hhh, and meatshield

    But

    Some of them are good enough they never need cap

    So lately I wait to see if they broadcast cap at least once, and if they do - start precapping

    p.s. nostalgic reading 1st post. We had Logi Commanders back then..

  5. Mardiorer,

    your Savior fit meet almost all req., seriously just double check LSE against R&R

    note also, that Savior pilot is more likely to pull aggro, and it does happen even with (sleepy/bad) marauders in fleet, thus double reduced tank (it is already reduced on cap stables compared to chain basi) + Savior is kinda.. idea with disadvantages.

    So, if you somehow could just put faction LSE, no less problem

    And, for your badges question. L+ badge lets you fly any logi fit, if FC allows it. It would be not SRPable if it does not meet R&R.

  6. +1 to Psycho-Pass , should not have forgotten

    "Interlude" too. I did not get the whole of it, and there are not a lot of anime I can say that about. Part of why I like this OVA

  7. Can't say about Naruto was to long to watch for me

    When I think about anime these springs to mind:

    Higurashi

    Miyazaki

    Hell Girl

    Ghost in the Shell

    Wolf's Rain

    Full Metal Alchemist

    GTO

    Re:Zero , Sword Art Online

    Mirai Nikki

    Lain: Serial Experiments

    Speed Grapher

    Shingetsutan Tsukihime / Type-Moon

    Tokyo Ghoul

  8. I understand what you want to say, about starter Vargur, Linwood Davion, I really do. That would not work, sadly, because while WtM is being friendly community, it's governed buy rules and they are rigid. And they are holding community together - for years. Mach is best bet for you now. What Niki said.

    If you really want to bring something that does not follow ALL the rules, there is only one way. You need to Complete WtM Resident Training program https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1MVI62AWsNjTMub3Se1cHKkb78Jk71iIyo_d3htNTxoedvw/viewform, prove - we have exams for that - that you understand _really all implications_. Than you can attempt to change rules, and have a fair go at it.

  9. 3 cycles is bad. waste a LOT of module uptime during deactivating/reactivating.

    its bad when basi only cap broadcasts (and you know thats how 3rd room is so broadcasts abundant)

    should add in rookie guide/logibro speech "never have your CC idle longer then your locktime"

    sigh. maybe should focus of them capping at all, and for pro-tactics for general public its to early. though we do have apt logi squads sometimes.

  10. I think you're right dark. All-5-but-Logi-4 Basi 1xT2 Minimal fit would cap out in 1:17min by itself. But solution is ez. "If your number i red, you always cap down. Experiment pertains only up caps which acts as combat cap in 1-2 tpph."

    Also, in 1st room tpph each particular basi never need two combat caps on outuni target because for 1 outuni 1 cc is enough.

    The issue with this tactic may be if when inexperienced basi continue to rep then cap out themselves. Solution is less ez. Basi "pro" mode is to be turned on (may be in MotD) only when FC trust CCC, and CCC confirms he trust his logi wing. Pilot awareness is the key. We could add more fancy tactics to pro mode later on, like for instance dropping chain on TPPH tower bash (though refitting 0/6 there is much more effective but with no refit, 2cc is still twice more then 1)

    Upside is huge. FC could reduce CC number from 4+ for TPPH (which they prefer to run with nowadays). This increase scimi links number and TPPHs are sites where links help most because of lot of burning to targets.

  11. May it soon happen that no-chaining-up be permitted officially in 1-2 tpph? If so wonderful news, I honestly did that mmm several times (almost every time I could and fleet was cap hungry) when I had basi chain buddy I knew wouldn't mind and be spooked. It works. If pilot is in control of situation, everything works.

    I didn't pull on purpose with logi because it would have given fleet members wrong impression of something bad and dangerous happening, or worse, it would give newbro logi an impression it is normal for logi to pull aggro (these different things). By itself, if pilot is in control pulling certain waves to proper position, its like Zane said, it helps and danger is ~nonexistent, and getting to gate in time - tell my 1k+ m/s basi its slowest ship in fleet. But I still rather not do it in logi, because misunderstandings outweight benefit in my book.

  12. If I get the topic starter right, he uses optimal fit already (with core-x), just swapped guns to meta4 from t2 and dmg rig rather then rof, right?

    If that's so, implants are the way to go. And there is major choice for you: performance inside sites, or fast warp/gating in. If you choose 1st, genos+speed implant in slot 8 may be your  endgame choice. If 2nd, you'll eventually get ascendancies + cap implant in slot 8.

    I also see genos as cheaper safer and more universal way, because it add a lot of tiny useful bonuses. It even helps at taking gates because of added agility.

    Or CCP would add shield pirate implants, and that would change the entire meta.

    3rd, cheap way: if you have 32.8 stability with genos which give 4.5% cap, check EM-804 4% cap implant. It would be an order of magnitude cheaper then other solutions and may just get you there.

    There are more sophisticated ways, but they wouldn't look good.

    5th, best way: fly a lot. Learn superior piloting, managing cap, broadcast cap preemptively when there are less broadcast going yet (like, top up in early 2nd room tpph, and not in 3d, where all the hungry ships drop to 30% together). Don't forget in positions. Logi like in positions, and thus like you, and thus everyone gets happy!

  13. Did you too measure them somehow Brok? Because on Romis Wasp really performed noticeably better then Ogre, while on battleships results were mixed (possibly need more statistics on battleships).

    Skillwise it probably would be right to add, all log collecting had been done with drone navigation and sharpshooting skills at 5, which may have benefited ogres a bit more then others.

    Interesting notion about shield layer. Its definitely plus for these ship that operate further from their drones.

  14. I tried to write it in detail but it becomes a LOT of text.

    In the core of it, its collecting right logs and parsing them into SQL database. When they are in database, we can analyze them in a lot of ways we want, with 1 line commands.

    1. To collecting right logs, and you need to use drones in same conditions. Heavies and lights are sadly incomparable directly because their damage "values" are incomparable and they are assigned to different bunnies.

    2. Parse logs with grep:

    grep 0xff00ffff * > some_file_outside_current_dir

    3. Create SQL database and table in it for example like this:

    CREATE TABLE `D` (
      `ID` mediumint(8) unsigned NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
      `DateTime` datetime NOT NULL,
      `Dmg` smallint(5) unsigned NOT NULL,
      `Target` varchar(30) NOT NULL,
      `Weapon` varchar(30) NOT NULL,
      UNIQUE KEY `ID` (`ID`) )

    4. Use for example Perl script like this to parse some_file_outside_current_dir into database:

    #!/usr/local/bin/perl

    use DBI;
    use strict;

    my $db = 'DBI:mysql:yourdatabase:localhost';
    my $db_user_name = 'yourlogin';
    my $db_password = 'yourpass';
    my $dbh = DBI->connect($db, $db_user_name, $db_password);

    my $file = 'some_file_outside_current_dir';

    open(FH, '<', $file) or die $!;

    while(<FH>){
            ~m/\[ (.*) \].*<b>(\d*)<\/b>.*<color=0xffffffff>(.*)<\/b>.* - (.*) - .*/;
            $dbh->do('insert into D (DateTime,Dmg,Target,Weapon) values ("'.$1.'",'.$2.',"'.$3.'","'.$4.'")');
    }

    $dbh->disconnect();
    close(FH);

    5. Use different Select statements to look at your data in peculiar ways, for example biggest table were produced with this:

    select Target,Weapon,sum(Dmg) from D where (Weapon like "%Wasp" or Weapon like "%Ogre" or Weapon like "%Berserker" or Weapon like "%Praetor") group by Weapon,Target order by Target,sum(Dmg);

    It all can be done under any Win/Linux/etc, I did in FreeBSD.

    Does it look like what you need?

    If you want you can collect logs and I probably could put them through parser, only make sure you use all in one and same way. You cannot fly 1 flight today, other tomorrow and compare, wont work that way.

    Looks like Ogre won :P

    Which didn't surprise me, but no one before could give hard numbers. Also curious that 3 of 4 have almost identical damage to rats, and thus raw damage gave Wasps closest 2nd place. What did surprise me was how bad Berserkers performed. Even though all-4 Berserkers we could recall later due to fact they return faster, the applied damage gap is to huge, even on rats.

    Are you going to upgrade to a Mach soon ? you can use 4 Ogre as well then !

    It goes beyond this research :) But I had something with even bigger bay in my mind for a while, believe leaked that few times. Developments in Jita postponed it, development here may cancel it, one way or another we'll see.
